20 Day Beverly Hills 90210 Challenge

Day 02: Favorite Male Character

Brandon Walsh
He was everything from Brenda’s better half to Dylan McKay’s and Steve Sanders’ saving grace to the social conscious of America. Brandon Walsh was a golden-hearted Midwestern kid who was best friend to all and notable boyfriend to both Emily Valentine and Kelly Taylor. He was reliable, friendly, and a perfectly pragmatic Romeo who could break our hearts with one single glance in our direction. Throughout his run on the series, he went from a high school kid and Peach Pit waiter, dating every attractive girl from a teen mom to a bratty Hollywood starlet, to a smooth Mustang-aficionado who dated slightly loco Emily Valentine who spiked his drink with euphoria at an underground club, to a college freshman having an affair with the spicy, commitment-phobic professor Lucinda Nicholson, to the ultimately mature, zealous Brandon who found true love with Kelly Taylor. Brandon was perhaps the most responsible character, although he had flaws. He compliments his onscreen sister, Brenda, well, and guides her through difficult situations. He calls out Dylan and Steve when they’re out of line. He helps Kelly time and time again, proving himself to be her true love until she finally realizes it. Brandon brings out the best in everyone and saves Beverly Hills 90210 from being overly soapy. He is an all-around good guy and mostly always does the right thing. Most of all, he isn’t as tortured as the others and is pretty much as “normal” as they come… which is the perfect foil for the perennially brooding Dylan McKay.
